Hydro line ZC-8 Zone controller is suitable for connecting multiple room thermostats and electric actuators (thermoheads) on an underfloor heating system.
PUMP (PMP) OUTPUT (Volt free contacts) (see fig. 5 on installation instruction data sheet)
ZC-8 controller has a volt free relay output for pump control that will be energised when any connected room thermostat calls for heat. To connect a 230v pump, link from the L terminal under the heading 230V to one side of the clean contact under the heading PMP. Connect the pump Live cable to the other volt free terminal under the heading PMP on the ZC-8 controller. Connect the pump N terminal to the N terminal of the ZC-8 controller under the heading 230V.
Connect the pump PE to the GND terminal on the ZC-8 controller.
DEMAND (BLR) OUTPUT (Volt free contacts) (see fig. 6 on installation instruction sheet)
ZC-8 has a second volt free relay output that can be used to enable a boiler / HIU, or to open a motorised valve.
A) To control a boiler that requires switching of the live supply, connect a 230v link from the L terminal under the heading 230V to one side of the clean contact under the heading BLR. Connect the Boiler Live cable to the other volt free terminal under the heading BLR on the ZC-8 controller. Connect the Boiler/HIU N terminal to the N terminal of the ZC-8 controller under the heading 230V.
